Just when we thought life couldn't get any better along came Saige! We welcomed our beautiful daughter on July 1, 2009 at 4:32 AM. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and 19.5 inches long. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives and to share such love!

18 Months!

Saige is now a year and half old and 100% kid. It's amazing how quickly she transformed from a doughy, snuggly baby to a walking, talking, personality filled KID.

At her 18 month doctor's appointment all checked out well - she now weighs almost 27 pounds and is 32 1/2 inches tall. This puts her around the 90th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. Still a big girl! Our pediatrician said that she is "very advanced for her age." (I know, I know.... I'm sounding like one of THOSE parents).

Her vocabulary has absolutely exploded. She can say at least 50 words? Maybe 100? She'll basically repeat anything you ask her to and knows the names of most objects. She's able to express herself enough now to where it's not a guessing game as to what she wants. She can follow basic instructions and grasps the potty idea (somewhat - we're not there yet!).

Everyday Saige says something new and we scratch our heads as to where she learned it. At dinner recently she lifted her sippy cup, said "Cheers!" and insisted we clank our glasses with hers. We figure the last time we did a cheers was Thanksgiving and she must have remembered!

As for her personality, we describe her as a goofball. She loves to tease, laugh and joke around. Tica patiently tolerates Saige as she puts sunglasses on her, forces her to play the harmonica and gets ridden like a horse.

Grandpa Steve was just here for visit and we all had a great time. Saige calls him "Paba." His heart had melted to puddle by the time he left.

Saige is absolute joy and we are having a blast!

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year held a new sort of magic for us as we were able to share it with Saige. While she didn't completely understand the concept of Santa coming down the chimney to fill her stocking, she definitely knows who Santa and Rudolf are. Or Tanta and Nose as she calls them.

Opening presents took most the day, as Saige had to play with each new toy she received. She was a spoiled girl this year and got lots of great new things!

As we always say, we are very blessed.

Where's that belly button!?!

15 Months Old!

It's been awhile since we've given an update on Saige! And there's been a lot to report! She's now 100% toddler. INTO EVERYTHING! Taking pictures has been a challenge lately because she simply won't sit still! But we've been having a blast - she's so inquistive, happy and fun!
She currently weighs 25 1/2 pounds and is 31 inches long. This puts her around the 80th percentile for weight and 65th for height. Still a big girl!

And part of the reason she's so big is because she loves to eat! We keep hearing horror stories about toddlers that are picky eaters, but so far, knock-on-wood, Saige is a great eater. She'll eat just about anything, particularily if it came from Mommy's plate. On a typical day she might eat a 2 egg omelette for breakfast, half of a tuna fish and pickle sandwich for lunch and a giant bowl of spinach and chicken for dinner.

Saige's vocabulary has exploded. Every day she suprises us with a new word. Her words now are: Mama, Dada, Tica, Mary, kitty, meow, hi, yum-yum, baby, ee-i-ee-i-oh, bee, ball, car, uh-oh and wow.

Books are Saige's favorite thing right now. She loves to "read" her books by pointing to the pictures and saying the things she knows. She's constantly bringing books to us to read to her. Which of course we can't resist! She's just too cute!

Nothing new to report on the sleep.... she still sleeps great at night and not so good for naps. Most days she'll still (hopefully!) take two naps.

She keeps on our toes, but oh is she fun! :)
